Biography

Tony was born and raised in Chicago and moved to Durango in 1981. His career spans over 27 years in broadcast television, radio, film, corporate training, live theater, and group facilitation. His clients include family businesses, state governments, and Fortune 500 companies such as CBS, ABC, ESPN, and BBC. Since 1996, Tony has taught video production classes at the high school and college level and has been accredited by the Colorado State Board of Community Colleges in Career and Technical Education for Radio and Television Broadcasting. Tony has also been honored with multiple National and Colorado programming awards. In his free time, Tony is an avid fisherman and boater. He also enjoys exploring the natural beauty and history of the Four Corners area.

Biography

Cuauhtémoc, or Quazzy, was named after the last Aztec emperor. While originally from San Diego, CA, he moved to Ignacio at a young age. Here he found a love for the outdoors including activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, farming, and hunting. He also enjoys summers rafting on the river and winters shredding the slopes. Quazzy grew up participating in after school programming with Youth Services. It impacted his life in such a positive manner, he now feels the responsibility to give back.

Peggy Iberg

Biography

Margaret (Peggy) Iberg grew up in Durango, Co and graduated from Fort Lewis College. Peggy spent her professional career as a middle teacher where she taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Language Arts, and Social Studies for 22 years. She holds a Master’s degree in education and has worked with the after-school program, Curiosity, at the Ignacio Middle School for the past three years. Peggy’s hobbies include hiking, pottery, jewelry making, and reading.

Biography

 

Andre Pierre Louis was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He has one brother and one son. Andre enjoys working with the youth every chance that he gets. The main reason Andre chose to work with youth is because he had adults in his life that positively impacted him as he grew up. He now feels that it is only right to invest in the future. He loves to do improv, and is a big fan of the Pittsburg Steelers.

 

Tava Wilson

Biography

Tava Wilson, an enrolled tribal member of the Muscogee Creek of Oklahoma, has been a dedicated mentor for youth in the La Plata county community for several years. She divides her time volunteering for La Plata Youth Services and working with Southern Ute Community Action Programs Youth Services. Tava is an alumnae of Fort Lewis College where she majored in Psychology. She also recently earned her Masters of Social Work from the University of Denver’s Four Corners program. Tava spends her free time exploring the cultural and natural beauty of the Southwest, and is also a hiking and camping enthusiast.
