Multisystemic Therapy is a respected evidence-based program that helps families function better. Using the many “systems” in which families operate (school system, justice system, social services system, religious system, family system, etc.), an MST Therapist uses frequent (at least weekly) contact with parents, children and the family as a whole to identify and build on family strengths.
The MST Supervisor is responsible for managing this program in La Plata and Archuleta Counties. He/she works with stakeholders and referral sources to identify families and guides two MST Therapists through their work with each family over the course of 4-5 months. The MST Supervisor also serves as the main point of contact for the agency charged with keeping our team compliant with the model and providing assistance on each case every week.
The MST Supervisor conducts team meetings, oversees data collection and entry, arranges for ongoing staff training, keeps stakeholders informed and promotes and markets the program to new partners. He/she must become very familiar with the principles of the model and be able to implement services in a way that is successful for families and consistent with MST guidelines.
